Evaporative Swamp Coolers are effective and efficient for cooling. Swamp coolers are designed specifically for hot, dry climates, evaporative swamp cooling is so cost efficient it is almost as if you are getting something for nothing. Evaporative coolers are also known as Swamp Coolers.  During hot, dry conditions an evaporative cooler can cool more efficiently than any other swamp cooling device or portable air conditioner, often using less than 100 watts and cooling the air by over 10 degrees.  Although swamp cooler systems work best in dry areas they will cool the air sufficiently in just about any hot location were there is a fresh dry air supply.

Do portable air conditioners cool the air and dehumidify?
Most portable air conditioners condensate water as they are cooled, this water is then contained in a internal water reservoir. On all our portable air conditioners, this water reservoir has the auto shutoff feature so that water is never accidentally spilled on the ground and MANY of our models actually never need to be drained.  These portable air conditioners are called self evaporating air conditioners and are popular in server rooms. Window fans and exhaust fans are probably the most inexpensive way to cool your home.  Electric Window fans can cool an entire home and are most often used to exhaust hot air in the evening.  Exhaust Window fans are used in the same way and may also be used as attic fans to draw hot air out of the attic.  Evaporative coolers and window fans are less expensive than a portable air conditioner, many of our customers choose either a window exhaust fan or an evaporative swamp cooler when they need cheap cooling
